EdPrepLab World Café: Transforming Teacher Education for a Changing World
11:00 AM - 8:30 PM ET
Fifth Global World Café Webinar on Teacher Education
Session 1: 11:00–12:30 PM EST | Session 2: 7:00–8:30 PM EST
Education is in the midst of a transformation. Generative AI and other emerging technologies are redefining what it means to teach and learn. At the same time, global political and social shifts are putting unprecedented pressure on schools and universities. In this moment of rapid change, teacher education faces a vital challenge—and opportunity: How can it evolve to be more agile, collaborative, and bold in leading the future of learning?
This pressing global issue will be the focus of EdPrepLab’s fifth World Café series, “Transforming Teacher Education for a Changing World.” The series is designed as a virtual international gathering that brings together educators, policy partners, and researchers to explore how teacher education can evolve to meet the demands of a changing world.
This virtual convening features experts in international education and will highlight exemplary practices and amplify the voices of those leading innovative, equity-centered approaches to teacher education. The discussion will examine how the field can respond to rapid technological, political, and social change by keeping learning grounded in the Science of Learning and Development while advancing equity, strengthening community, and preparing teachers with the knowledge and agency to shape the future of learning. Participants from around the world will engage in collaborative dialogue to consider how to sustain a steadfast commitment to educational equity; prepare teachers to meet students’ diverse and evolving needs; and identify opportunities for collective action within their own courses, programs, and institutions.
By connecting across contexts and experiences, this World Café will strengthen community, deepen shared understanding, and inspire coordinated efforts to transform teacher education for a changing world.
