Online Pedagogy

Robin Hummel and Laura Zadoff
March 2022 | EdPrepLab

Robin Hummel and Laura Zadoff, Bank Street’s Co-Directors of Online Teaching and Learning, presented what they have learned working with and providing pedagogical support to colleagues who teach online. In addition, they discussed six salient aspects of online pedagogy that have emerged from interviewing 40 educators across the country about their online practice. These aspects include engagement, inquiry, equity, presence, time and space, and community and networks. The session included a presentation, break-out and whole-group discussions, and ended with an activity to engage educator preparation faculty, staff, and administration to consider next steps in shaping their online pedagogies.
