Supporting Student Well-Being and Learning: A Transition Tool
This tool from the American Institutes for Research offers practical resources to support school districts in implementing effective strategies that promote student well-being and learning. It includes three components: Transition Phase Guidelines, a Change Readiness Checklist, and Action Lenses. The Transition Phase Guidelines provide direction for schools as they begin building new systems that prioritize the whole child. The Change Readiness Checklist helps districts assess their capacity to implement strategies that support student development. The Action Lenses offer three guiding perspectives for decision-making: positive developmental relationships; meaningful learning experiences that build skills, mindsets, and habits; and integrated support systems that address both individual and collective needs. Each lens is explained in detail to help schools create environments that promote equity and align with the science of learning and development.
