Race and Education: Building the Next Generation of Diverse Teacher Leaders

August 2020 | The Hunt Institute

This one-hour webinar from the Hunt Institute highlights four Black education experts who discuss the importance of teacher diversity, and how the COVID-19 pandemic revealed existing structural issues. The panelists discuss the effectiveness of diversity initiatives such as Pennsylvania’s Aspiring to Educate and North Carolina’s Developing a Representative and Inclusive Vision for Education (DRIVE) task force. This webinar also examines the relationship between having a culturally relevant curriculum and having educators that are representative of the student body.
