How Districts and States Are Addressing Teacher Turnover
In this article by Learning Forward, the authors provide examples of how districts and states across the country are building the teaching profession by recruiting and retaining classroom educators. Focusing on teacher development and support, the article highlights action steps that leaders may consider for their own contexts. There are five main topics: (1) developing beginning teachers, (2) creating inclusive teaching environments, (3) differentiating staffing structures, (4) building teachers’ social and emotional competencies, and (5) building leadership skills.
