Be Internet Awesome Curriculum
This curriculum guide from iKeepSafe and The Net Safety Collaborative is designed to equip children, particularly in grades 2–6, with essential digital citizenship and safety skills. It is organized around the five core principles of the Internet Code of Awesome: (1) Share with Care, (2) Don’t Fall for Fake, (3) Secure Your Secrets, (4) It’s Cool to Be Kind, and (5) When in Doubt, Talk It Out. The curriculum teaches students how to responsibly share online, recognize misinformation, protect personal information, encourage positive online interactions, and seek help when necessary. The guide includes structured lessons and family resources to extend learning beyond the classroom. Educator preparation faculty can use this resource to help future teachers understand how to integrate digital citizenship into their teaching practices, ensuring that students are equipped with the skills needed to navigate the online world.
