Cycle of Inquiry: Finding and Solving Preparation Program Problems

Published in the Journal of Research on Leadership Education, this research article conceptualizes the composition of an exemplary leadership preparation program (LPP). The researchers reviewed three exemplary LPPs and found that continuous improvement is critical to their cultivation. The four recommendations from the study encourage LPPs to (1) start small with continuous program improvement work and stay at a realistic level for your program’s capacities, then; (2) identify technologies that will inform your continuous improvement work; (3) aggressively seek external resources that will support the work; and (4) consider your internal capacities when planning for your initial continuous improvement work.
