Transformative Social and Emotional Learning (T-SEL) Conditions for Thriving: School Leaders
These guiding principles from the California Department of Education provide recommended practices school leaders can use to assist in the creation of conditions that support Transformative Social and Emotional Learning (T-SEL). These practices were designed to support leaders as they create educational environments that adopt whole child development on a system level, commit to equity through a range of policy and practice shifts, build capacity for students and adults through a focus on relationships, and utilize data to inform the improvement of instructional and school practices. Current and future educational leaders will likely find these principles to be a helpful resource. Leader preparation programs might consider ways to incorporate the principles into courses.
