This syllabus for High Tech High’s Teaching Methods of Instruction and Assessment course outlines goals, readings, assignments, and a topic schedule, with a link to a detailed agenda for each week’s session. The course focuses on helping candidates to successfully launch the beginning of the school year by developing their ability to apply strategies for classroom management, establishing norms and routines, and allowing space for student voice. The syllabus provides guidelines for seven “put it to practice” assignments that help candidates reflect on their learning and connect it to their practice in the classroom.
