Student-Centered Model of Blended Learning

May 2019 | Edutopia

This Edutopia video describes a self-paced blended learning model at a Washington, DC, high school. A student-centered model of blended learning allows teachers to alter instruction to meet the needs of every learner in the classroom. Intentional use of technology allows the teacher to make lessons more meaningful and accessible to students—even those with chronic absences. This model also empowers students to assist their peers, take charge of their learning, and work at their own pace to ensure they grasp concepts before moving on to the next lesson.
