South Carolina Whole Child Education Policy

This two-part research and policy report from the University of South Carolina College of Education details findings from an examination of more than 200 policy documents and interviews with state educators and educational professionals. While the primary findings showed that South Carolina was making progress in its efforts to advance whole child education, there are state policies, regulations, and funding models that inhibit the whole child approach to education. This report describes the vision for whole child education and offers recommendations and practical next steps for leaders and policymakers.
