Shared Leadership and Power for School Transformation: Part 1— Building Trusting Relationships
This 90-minute webinar presented by The California Partnership for the Future of Learning and hosted by the Learning Policy Institute focuses on the role that building trust plays in advancing transformative community schools. As a long-term approach to how states can offer schooling, transformative community schools start with building trusting relationships and teams that involve all members of the school community. In this model, team members, which includes students, families, educators, and community partners, share power, decision-making, and responsibility for their school. Laura Hernández, senior researcher with the Learning Policy Institute, shares research on why relationships matter, and a panel discusses the topic of relational trust in schools.
