Restorative Practices: A Guide for Educators
This toolkit from the Schott Foundation explains what restorative practices are, how they can be implemented in classes and schools, and how restorative practices transform a school’s culture and students’ learning and experiences. The “Tale of Two Schools” infographic shows the differences in student experience in a “zero-tolerance” context versus a context implementing restorative practices. The guide Restorative Practices: Fostering Healthy Relationships & Promoting Positive Discipline in Schools provides descriptions of restorative practices and a framework around the “Four Ps”: person, place, practice, and plan. The guide includes thought questions for how to use the Four Ps at the classroom, school, and community levels as well as action steps and examples of districts and schools that use restorative practices.
