Play-based Math in Pre-K & Kindergarten Reduces Achievement Gap by 30%

The Bank Street Graduate School of Education provides an overview of its partnership with the New York City Department of Education. The aim of the project is to develop professional learning for pre-k teachers focused on math instruction and then lead after-school math clubs, which engage kindergarten students in developmentally meaningful math activities. This resource provides an example of how educator preparation programs can strengthen their relationship with local school districts through collaborative projects.
