Minnesota Educator Dispositions System (MnEDS)

September 2017 | University of Minnesota–Twin Cities

This site for the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities’ Minnesota Educator Dispositions System (MnEDS) breaks down the MnEDS Framework for Equity-Oriented Teaching. The framework and accompanying rubrics were designed to facilitate dialogue around teacher candidate dispositions and to guide feedback and coaching for dispositional growth. The framework and rubrics have an explicit equity focus and include eight strands: (1) honoring assets, (2) critical self-awareness, (3) collaboration and communication, (4) critical care for students, (5) intentional professional choices, (6) flexibility and adaptability, (7) imagination and innovation, and (8) advocacy. This resource may be adapted by other educator preparation programs to guide the dispositional development of teacher and leader candidates.
