The Bank Street Graduate School of Education provided a snapshot of practice through study. Bank Street faculty Peggy McNamara, Chair of General Teacher Education, worked with two 1st-grade teachers who met regularly to plan an emergent curriculum, reflect on their practice, and share the challenges and rewards of leading a public-school classroom. This study followed Peggy and the teachers as they made teaching decisions to engage and educate students through a study of food and community.
