This 15-minute video from the Leadership Development Institute (LDI) at Louisiana State University describes the Leadership Alphabet of Disposition Development Engagement and Reflection (LADDER) framework of leadership dispositions, the research behind it, and how it is used in LDI’s model for leadership. Through their three phase model, they (1) identify standards for disposition of leadership, (2) assess data on candidates, and (3) develop individual action steps for participants. They focus on dispositions, development, engagement, and reflection. The speaker shares a set of dispositions that emerged from 750 participants and connects them to letters of the alphabet. The video provides an overview of how LDI focuses on the individual’s personal leadership practices and, through coaching, helps participants improve the behaviors, skills, and competencies they need to be effective leaders.
