Enduring Problems, Rethinking Process, Fulfilling Promises: Reflections on the Continuing Shortage of Teachers of Color

In this journal article, A. Lin Goodwin, Senior Research Fellow with the Learning Policy Institute, reflects on one approach to the minority teacher shortage she raised in her publication "Problems, process, and promise: Reflections on a collaborative approach to the solution of the minority teacher shortage" (Goodwin, 1991) and considers what progress has been made over the past 30 years. With decades of experience, the author offers new insight for assessing how far teacher education has come and where the field needs to go now.
