Choice Time and Inquiry in Fanny’s Kindergarten Classroom

March 2017 | The High Quality Early Learning Project

In this video from the High Quality Early Learning Project, a kindergarten teacher from a public school in Flushing, Queens, New York facilitates inquiry learning to help students research answers to a problem that arose during play-time in a previous class. The video is accompanied by a set of guiding questions for discussion as well as five additional video clips. The additional videos are short and demonstrate the anatomy of an inquiry, a closer look at choice time centers, integration of skills with inquiry and choice, different ways to partner with families, and the critical role of play in children’s learning.
