Inquiry Into Practice II: Iterative Learning Cycles to Guide Improvement Syllabus

David Trautman and Rossa Doño-Ramírez
January 2022 | High Tech High Graduate School of Education

This syllabus from the High Tech High Graduate School of Education for EDU 675 builds on Inquiry Into Practice I to support students in designing qualitative and quantitative data collection tools. Students develop data analysis techniques to inform evidence-based decision-making throughout the course, Inquiry Into Practice III, and their teaching careers. This project-based course is a key example of ways SoLD principles can be implemented in leader education courses; candidates are supported in becoming reflective and collaborative educational leaders as they put theory into practice through Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles. Leader preparation programs may use this syllabus as an example of a course designed to create leaders who are prepared to make a change.
