Evolving Perspectives: Educator Views on Career and Technical Education
This research report, published by EdWeek Research Center, outlines findings from a national survey of educators with Career and Technical Education (CTE) responsibilities in their schools and districts. CTE programs offer hands-on learning across a range of fields, with the most popular areas identified as digital technology, cybersecurity, architecture, and physical and behavioral health services. Analyzing fall 2025 survey data from 472 educators, the report finds that more than 7 in 10 CTE educators reported increased student interest in CTE over the past 5 years. With students becoming increasingly interested in CTE pathways, the report shares recommendations for meeting students’ needs and improving programs. Overall, the report cites the need for additional funding and resources, stronger partnerships with local industries and partners, and more opportunities for students to earn industry-recognized credentials. The results of the survey may be useful for school or district leaders looking to provide more CTE-focused post-secondary opportunities for students.
