Culturally Responsive Teaching Video Library
This video resource library from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education features exemplar videos of culturally responsive teaching (CRT) practices by Massachusetts educators from the 2020–21 school year. Video topics include English language arts, history/social studies, social-emotional learning, and science. Each video is about 10–35 minutes long and is supported by a 2-page document that provides additional information on the educator’s CRT journey and the class’s context. The videos cover grades 3–12 and feature remote, hybrid, and in-person teaching. While not all K–12 grades are currently included, CRT practices are applicable to all grade levels. Each video was reviewed and selected by Massachusetts educators, The Teacher Collaborative, and The Teachers' Lounge. The review process assessed teacher instruction, lesson content, group culture, and the interpersonal relationships at play. This resource library may be helpful to educators looking to elevate their CRT practices and to teacher preparation faculty looking to highlight what successful CRT practices look like.
